Landscape design for a contemporary hillside residence: an entry of palms and flowering ipês, a covered garage with a boat bay and restful nooks in the rear garden.

Project vision

The landscape structures both the arrival and the rear of a contemporary residence set on a slope. From the covered garage to the back garden, the routes link the entrance, the living areas and the resting nooks.

Visual language

Greenery frames the neutral volume topped by an upper block clad in wood. Coconut palms and other palms bring verticality, while blooming yellow ipês punctuate the facade with seasonal colour.

Materials and atmosphere

Pale rendered walls, slatted-wood bands and cubic white planters converse with ferns, purple-leaf plants and dense ground covers. Hammocks, timber benches and a fire bowl shape places to linger outdoors.

Experience of the spaces

Curving paths and stairways lead between planting beds to the rear, where tall walls, the shade of palms and garden furniture define a calm sitting area sheltered from the surroundings.
